Two great examples of why lots of people resent public arts funding. This orchestra is looking for interesting places to play, but that’s in Germany so I sort of get it. But I can’t really figure the other one out.
I feel like I’m still recovering from the first few weeks of the season (see previous post). All those cellists, but it was really fun. Lost instruments in taxis, chapter 94: the New York Times reports that Korean violinist Hanh-Bin recently left his loaner $600K Pressenda in a taxi on the way home from a concert. It was a happy ending, but several things intrigued me about this story.
