In my post What Defines a Healthy Orchestra I wrote that Orchestras should consider exploring the possibility of recruiting a “team doctor” to donate some time to help musicians in need, especially the ones who travel to play with them. I have some news!!!…
Springfield Orthopedic Surgeon Dr Michael Clarke and his wife Krystyna are longtime supporters of the Symphony. I visited them recently at their clinic and and explained the idea of finding a team doctor asking if they knew of any physician that might be willing to offer some on call help to musicians traveling here for concert week. Without hesitation Dr Clarke himself volunteered and gave me his cell phone number! He is such an in demand and well respected specialist in Springfield, I am so grateful for his willingness to do this for us and especially for our musicians.
So now we have someone for bones and joints, now onto the rest of what ails us!….
