Well, I’m home. It’s about 35 degrees colder her in Minneapolis than Charlotte, but it’s much warmer in my heart because I’ve spent the afternoon watching my boys run around like mad people. The joys of parenthood. But about last night…….

Charlotte Part The Third
Second full day in Charlotte and I wake up feeling like an old man. Between conducting, practicing, and the long bike ride yesterday this 43-year-old body is complaining. Nothing to do but do it all over again.
After the panic…Trust sets in!
Whenever you hear or read about “Midwest tornadoes”, chances are they are talking about my neck of the woods. This past Monday a freakish line of storms passed right through Springfield and if you have never heard a tornado siren sound, trust me, when you are out when it does and your family is not with you, having to cancel a rehearsal is the furthest thing from your mind….
