Peter Whorf Leaves WFMT for WKAR

Tom Taylor at Radio-info.com reports that Peter Whorf is leaving his longtime position as Program Director and VP of Content at WFMT in Chicago and will be taking over as General Manager of WKAR at Michigan State University. Peter Whorf departs Chicago for East Lansing, says TimeOut Chicago’s Robert Feder. Angst Over Classical in Nashville

We reported back in June 2011 about Nashville Public Radio taking over Vanderbilt University station WRVU and making it classical. They changed the call letters to WFCL and almost immediately began to operate the new format under an LMA.  Now the former friends of WRVU are filing a petition to deny WFCL renewal of the license. WITF in Harrisburg – Update

We told you about the switch from classical to news/talk in Harrisburg PA on WITF a while back.  Well, the change happened this morning.  A few interesting observations from the Pennlive.com blog post today: 1. The rationale for changing formats was that there were twice as many news listeners as classical listeners.
