Radio Director

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications, Journalism, Media Arts or related field required.
  • Seven years of progressively responsible management experience in broadcasting, public radio, programming and production, communications, or a related field required.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Assesses the needs, allocates the resources, and coordinates the activities surrounding the personnel, production, and programming components of a multi-station public radio network.
  • Develops on-air talent, manages on-air sound and productions
  • Manages special projects and  resources across the state
  • Oversees the daily on-air activities necessary to produce and broadcast public radio to listeners, including preparing long and/or short-range programming strategies.
  • Executes a budget and management plan that accomplishes the goals of GPB Radio with available resources.
  • Maintains and develops strategies that create and cultivate strong partnerships in public media, in the community and with associated organizations.
  • Participates in and directs staff in fundraising and resource development.
  • Significant statewide travel
