Discover Classical 88.1 & 89.9FM/ Dayton Public Radio

SUMMARY: Some stations are reducing, or even eliminating, classical music. In Dayton, we don’t have enough hours in the day! Discover Classical 88.1 & 89.9FM, the 24-hour classical music service of Dayton Public Radio, has a rare opportunity for a full-time On-Air Host. The ideal candidate is passionate about classical music, is able to engage the “one” listener, relating to the music in a personable, yet professional, style. The ideal candidate recognizes the current evolving media landscape, and is fluent in current/emerging platforms.  A strategic thinker and planner, the On-Air Host must be an innovative self-starter, always seeking out new ways to champion classical music. Outstanding fundraising skills and public interaction are also vital to this position. Clock-watchers need not apply.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-Minimum 3 years on-air experience required.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or a related field highly desired.

SKILLS
-Understanding of public radio core values
-Proven communication, writing, editing and interviewing skills
-Technologically fluent, with strong understanding/application of social media.
-Experience in at least two (2) of the following desired: Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Audition, Dreamweaver, Musicmaster, Content Depot, and ENCO.
-Ability to multi-task, with a commitment to detail and completion
-Ability to work cooperatively in small-team environment
-Can-do/Will-do attitude
