CPB veep urges public radio to change, reach new audiences

Also from the Public Radio Program Directors Conference, Todd Mundt of Louisville Public Media shares his notes from a keynote address by Bruce Theriault. Theriault is senior v.p. for radio at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. His comments aren’t directly about classical radio, but they do apply to all of public radio, classical included.

One line that struck me as key, said in reference to young people: “This isn’t new media to them — it’s just media.” As time passes that will be true of more and more people.

Full summary here.

UPDATE: Also via Todd, winners of the Awards for Creative Excellence in public radio. Minnesota Public Radio’s classical service won for the third year in a row.
