Just What Sacramento Needs – More Talk, Less Music

The Sacramento Business Journal reports that Classical Public Radio in Sacramento is moving its jazz off of the dual format station KXJZ (JZ, get it?).  Why, you ask?  Here’s why: The changes will allow Capital Public Radio to repeat news and information shows that air during the day in the evening, and free up airtime to provide additional news and information programs. Good News from the Trenches

Back on the horse?? Some news bits from east and west: KCPB, Coast Community Radio in Oregon is adding two hours a day to its classical roster from 8 to 10 pm, and will include live performances from various orchestras and festivals.  KCPB is a dual-format station that now airs 9 hours a day of classical music on weekdays.  From the publication Coast Weekend: According to Coast Community Radio Program Director Elizabeth Menetrey, the change in format comes in response to growing demand for classical programs from KCPB listeners.
