RADIO STATION MANAGER/WKAR-AM/FM

Michigan State University is seeking a Station Manager for WKAR Radio.  The Station Manager will oversee operation of WKAR FM (NPR news and classical music), WKAR AM (NPR news and talk), the WKAR Classical, Jazz and Folk internet streams and the WKAR Radio Reading Service for the visually impaired.

The Station Manager will lead a staff of on-air music hosts, news producers/reporters, sports and talk show hosts, the Radio Reading Service Producer, contract producers and student employees.  He/she will be responsible for the overall on-air sound of the stations.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications or a related field, plus at least eight years of experience in programming, audience research, personnel and financial management, fundraising and operations of a public radio station, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
