KMFA Classical Radio has a rare opening for a Program Director in one of the most desirable markets in the US: Austin, Texas, the “live music capitol of the world.” The right candidate will have the opportunity to help lead this heritage public radio station to the next level of growth, service and success. The winning candidate has strong interpersonal skills, prior classical radio programming experience, extensive knowledge of classical music, creative team management and leadership experience, demonstrated fundraising skills, public speaking and presentation expertise, knowledge of audience demographics and psychographics, and on-air hosting experience.
PD responsibilities include but are not limited to: co-authoring overall strategic direction, designing content, positioning and programming, both on-air and online, managing performance of the creative staff, working closely with senior management to assist Marketing, Development, Membership and Underwriting efforts, meeting and exceeding audience measurement goals, and insuring FCC compliance.
