The title of this post is snark, in case you don’t know me! There’s been an interesting discussion going on at the AMPPR Listserv about KPAC in San Antonio dumping its five local announcers in favor of C-24 (also live announcers) and diverting their salaries to the news division. WKSU Bumps Daytime Classical

WKSU, Cleveland’s dual-format station based in Kent, Ohio has decided to fill up the daytimes with talkety-talk and bump classical to the evenings and overnights.  I always love the euphemisms when stations make these changes: The Kent-based public radio station still will emphasize classical music, but that emphasis will shift totally to 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. From 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, the station will focus on  news. Full-Time Classical Coming in Wilmington?

Our friend Cleve Callison at WHQR in Wilmington was interviewed in the Greater Wilmington Business Journal about the station’s potential good news: WHQR-FM is in talks to buy a second radio station in the market, station manager Cleve Callison said Tuesday during a fundraising event.
