Despite healthy news from places like Seattle and St. Louis, things are not looking great in Atlanta or Indianapolis.<!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adaptistration.com\/blog\/2012\/09\/05\/atlanta-musicians-locked-out\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Today&#8217;s article from Drew McManus <\/strong><\/a>details developments in Atlanta, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.indystar.com\/viewart\/20120903\/THINGSTODO03\/209040311\/September-Indianapolis-Symphony-Orchestra-concerts-could-canceled\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>this piece<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0pretty much sums up Indianapolis. Not much news coming out of St. Paul except for a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.startribune.com\/entertainment\/music\/168162386.html?refer=y\" target=\"_blank\">revealing interview<\/a> <\/strong>with Artistic Partner (and our Music Director) Edo de Waart. I do love his quotes&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>I have friends in all these orchestras, and beyond the personal connections it&#8217;s difficult to comprehend how such quality institutions get into these complex and dire situations, and equally vexing to imagine a path out.
